17 May Student drawing competition „Vilnius 2073“
We will all be celebrating an extraordinary birthday together soon – youthful Vilnius will celebrate its 700th anniversary! 2023 In the Pavilion located in the city center, we will introduce Vilnius 200 years ago, remember the special people who created Vilnius, and invite you not to forget that you are the creators of your city!
On that occasion, the Lithuanian National Museum together with the Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis School of Arts is announcing a children’s drawing competition “Vilnius 2073”. We invite school-age children from all over Lithuania to create the Vilnius of the future! Maybe in 50 years, the roofs of Vilnius will be decorated with solar collectors, drones carrying parcels and food will fly in the skies, the system of public trains will run over the heads of passers-by, and vertical skyscrapers will become places for walks? Your fantasy today can become the reality of tomorrow, so imagine it boldly!
We are waiting for students’ drawings and graphic design works until 2022. on September 30, and in October we will announce as many as 30 winners who will be awarded special prizes by the museum.
The competition is dedicated to Vilnius 700 and the project „Paviljonas: Vilnius prieš 200 metų“.
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Culture Council.
Project partners: Lithuanian Association of Progymnasiums and the Center for Contemporary Didactics.
