\nThe conference was aimed to discuss the role of reading in the context of changing educational tasks and contemporary society needs; to highlight reading and text cognition related problems indicated by scientists and practitioners and to find possible ways of solution; to share a good practice in the field; to encourage a linkage of scientific and practical pedagogical experience.
\nThere were 114 participants at the conference – teachers of general and higher education, librarians, social pedagogues, servants of the Ministry of Education and Science and education departments of municipalities.
